How does the league work?
Poker in the Pub is the UK's largest non-gambling poker league
and is one of a number of cost effective and revenue increasing
products from Living it Loving it. The aim of the night is to
create a friendly atmosphere in your venue as well as encouraging
new customers and, from experience, we know that with the right use
of our promotional material, your night can be a great success!
The league is run on a 12 weekly basis, with the 13th week being
a break and a chance for qualifiers to attend a Regional Final.
Once a week (on a night of your choice) players will come along and
play No Limit Texas Hold'em for points against each other. These
points are calculated automatically on our computer system and form
a league table. Each venue is guaranteed a minimum of 3 qualifiers;
however this is done on an average, so you can have anything up to
14 qualifiers from your venue. We have great prizes for your
players to aim for, including trips to Las Vegas which can be won
at our National Finals.
We divide the UK into 7 regions with each Regional Final being
held at the following venues*.
- North West - Liverpool Circus Casino
- North East/Yorkshire - Newcastle Circus Casino
- Midlands - Coventry G Casino
- East Anglia - Grosvenor Casino Great Yarmouth
- South East - G Casino Brighton
- South West - Grosvenor Plymouth
- Scotland - Glasgow Mint Casino
* Please note these venues can be subject to change.
Our National Finals are held twice a year in October/November
and May. Las Vegas prizes are usually taken in June/July.
Points for Poker in the Pub nights
Players receive 40 points for each player they finish above,
plus bonus points for finishing in the top six. Bonus points are
1st 1500, 2nd 1000, 3rd 750, 4th 500, 5th 250, 6th 100.
So with 11 players:
1st - 1940 (440 + 1500 bonus points)
2nd - 1400 (400 + 1000 bonus points)
3rd - 1110 (360 + 750 bonus points)
4th - 820 (320 + 500 bonus points)
5th - 530 (280 + 250 bonus points)
6th - 340 (240 + 100 bonus points)
7th - 200 8th - 160 9th - 120

10th - 80
11th - 40
The Game
- No Limit Texas Hold'em
- Each level will last for 15 minutes
- We suggest starting with 2,000 chips per player, depending on
times and numbers
- Each starting stack must consist of at least 4 x $25 chips and
4 x $100 chips (if using 2000 chips)
- Once a player has lost all of their chips they are out of the
tournament.
